Hello,

I got an antique German silver work. There are 4 marks on the base. One mark I can recognize is the Augsburg silver mark but I can't recognize other marks. I would like to show my collection here. Any comments and knowledge is much appreciated.

Hi,
GERMAN, HANAU,STORCK & SINSHEIMER 1874 - 1926
See here:
https://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_hanau_marks_01.html

Under 3 and 4 : letter A.
Do not expect perfect match of all marks, one mark is enough for positive identification,Hanau silversmiths used various combinations of fantasy marks.
Regards

Thank you very much for your information sharing. As I know, since 1884, the Crescent Moon and Crown became the mark of silver by law. I didn't find the the Crescent Moon and Crown mark on this silver work. Do you think it would be not made by silver? But it looks like real silver.
Any thoughts or comments are very much appreciated.

Hi,
Crescent and crown Reichsmark was optional, often omitted, particularly often missing on Hanau silver.
Yes, your item was made of silver, most likely .800 fineness.
