since a long time I have this spoon and I thought once I shall know the maker when reading in this Forum or in the books. But up to now no luck. Behind halfmoon crown 800 there is an ancre and a cock. Who is the maker?

Of the three post 1886 German silversmiths listed here, only three have anchors. A. Truxa & Co. of Berlin (c 1905 - c 1930) seems to be the closest. Is it at all possible that the rooster is a retailer's mark?

Hello, Truxa made jewellery, the anchor ist the mark of A.G. Haegermann from Peine. Agree that the rooster is most likely a retailer's mark, it is not a Haegermann mark. The German word for rooster is "Hahn" - just a guess but maybe that is the retailer's name. Regards, Bahner

On my inquiry I got the Information that there is no relation between Haegermann Burgdorf (now Otto Kropp) and A.G. Haegermann Peine.

Hello, to my knowledge Adolf Gustav Wallfahrt Haegermann (thus his complete name; b. 1857, d. 1920) was a son of Adolf Wilhelm Wallfahrt Haegermann, who in turn was one of the five known sons of Gustav Hagermann, founder of the Haegermann company. So A.G. Haegermann was a grandson of the "old" Haegermann". Regards, Bahner

from the present owner of Kropp (former Haegermann) I heard that around 1929 Kropp and Tappe bought the insolvent company Haegermann. At the same time Wilhelm Tappe continued his business as a silversmith in Hannover-Neustadt (mark: a horse jumping to the right) and considered Haegermann as a financial participation. In 1955 Kropp bought the part of Tappe.
There is no knowledge about the genealogy of Haegermann.
