Sugar bowl got 7 different marks.I list them all to make it easier. From right side of pic
1-anchor - Birmingham assay office mark
2-duty head- i was trying to match with examples and only matching in my opinion is George III duty mark 1784. Is it correct ?
3- English rampart lion - symbol for English sterling silver 925
4- ??? - I didn't find anything to match this symbol
5- 830 - I got some info about that. Some silver objects has been stamped with lower silver mark than 925 to avoid duty tax. Is it correct ?
6 - D.A.SCHMIDT - probably name of importer but i can not find any details about him. Only one who match duty stamp date is Daniel Heinrich Schmidt but he use his own silver maker symbol DHS so i getting confused.
7 - V - V letter probably means sugar bowl was imported from England.
My questions :
How old is a sugar bowl ?
If sugar bowl is English why wasn't marked with any british silver maker stamp ?
Is sugar bowl is sterling silver 925 , or 830 ?
Who is D.A.Schmidt ?
