I have the following interesting silver spoon.
The only mark is the maker WB.
My best guess is that it may be German (?)

WB is not much to go for. There must be several possible
In Denmark we have 2 possible.
Willalads Christensen Berg - thera are a lot of his marks in the book. Could be that they are not all belonging to him. He was born 1718 mentioned 1745 request to be master 1746, master april 30th 1749 in Odense. dead 1780, but vidow continues business.
The spoon however is late empire in style - i.e 1820 to late 1800hundreds.
So its unlikely that he is the one- however some marks contribuet to him could be a different master.
We have one working in Århus and Horsens Johan Wilhelm Bøttger born 1871 in Sachsen he gets citienship in 1812 in Århus - this he cancells in 1830 where he mooves to Horsens and become master - he dies 1835.

His marks are similar, but not corresponding.
Willads Christensen Berg marks are moro likely. But Again - Time
Where did you find this? North Germany?

Thank you Hose_dk for those interesting comments
I got the spoon from north England. From a vendor, I bought approximately 20 spoons.
I bought them mainly because I knew it would be interesting to find out what they are.
One of the spoons was English so I understood that one.
All the others have markings which are not clear to me but they all look non-English, (central European or perhaps celtic).
I am carefully cleaning them and posting them on this site and I am just usually guessing their origin.
For example I listed one under Scottish silver but I had no replies so perhaps it isn't.
I have had replies regarding 3 of the spoons and those are all originating from southern Germany or Switzerland.

You are right - the makers mark is not much to go on and my photo is poor.
I attach a better photo
Any more thoughts ? Thank you for your thoughts so far
