due the moon and the crown hallmarks I suppose that this is German. Can somebody recognized firm and time was produced?

Nice niello checkered pattern cigarette case. I guess made around the turn of the 19th century but perhaps others could tell you more and the maker's name.

Of course, he meant the turn to the 20th century.
