Small Handled Cup - need help with makers mark/town mark

Hi everyone,

I have a family heirloom, this silver two handled cup and needed some assistance.

The town mark appears to be two cross swords which I understand is Saxony, but with no letter indicating town, I am not sure where to go from there. The swords match very similar stamps I have seen online from both Dresden and Leipzig.

As for the markers mark, the best I can figure it appears to be I.C.D. and to that end, on this forum I found reference to ICD is Joseph Christoph Deppenbrock. http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=40189
But that also says he was in Münster in the Westfalen, which wouldn't match the Saxony stamp.

But I wasn't even sure that was I.C.D. the C looks almost like a G and the D looks almost like a lowercase b, though I doubt it.

Any help you can offer would be so helpful, thank you in advance!

-Lee

Hallo,

this is indeed not an easy question - and I can't give You an answer, but I have some other marks like this.
The Leipzig- area is an Option - it is not Dresden. I think your makersmark is [ICB]

Thank you for the information, I will look for ICB, are you aware of any makers with these initials?

I would appreciate any other information anyone might have.

Thanks so much!

Was hoping anyone else might help out with either an approximate year, location (confirm Leipzig or not) and maker suggestion?

there is no one else as me ;-)

I think Leipzig is the best suggestion.
I will try to find it out - but it needs more time.

there are some addressbooks of Leipzig - but I find no match

I have a tea set stamped Deppenbrock, might it be the same person?
