Hanau chevrons, crescent & crown, 800, 3 figure mark?

Post by flamnikita »

The "three figures" seem to be children, or teapots? The signature on the photo is a name "gf-finke?" over "Hanau" - not sure if it identifies the photographer or the silversmith. I think the set was acquired in Gemany in the 50's, but could be older. Thanks for helping if you can! Btw, I learned of the truncated Hanau chevron on your site.

Hello, the mark on the upper right corner is the city mark of Hanau, Germany. The badly struck makers mark is that of Karl Soehnlein from Hanau, active from 1888 until 1957, when Schleissner in Hanau took over the company. Finke is probably the photographer. Best wishes, Bahner
