Are these marks Pseudo Hanau?

Postby ronenros » Sun Feb 20, 2011 7:48 pm

Hi,

I have this bonbon scoop that tests positive for silver. It is marked with what looks like a Maltese cross and a variation of an Augsburg pine cone mark. I've seen similar marks used on Hanau silver, but in different combinations. Would anyone be able to identify the origin of this piece?

Hello.

I think they are Hanau marks. Can't say for sure who used them. Maybe Wolf & Knell?

Attached are a few other sets of Hanau marks and your marks for comparison.

Thanks Patrick,

The marks that you have provided do look similar. I guess that it'll be difficult to pinpoint a maker, however.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion!

Ron
