Hallo from Germany.....I would appreciate any help/info. I've a set of three 800 Silver Spoons with gold overlay. The marks are halfmoon, crown, 800 and eagle....which is Bruckmann....this far I know......but, I believe that these spoons are made for a special occasion or someone with a family crest. The backside of handle shows the crest. My only findings so far are, that Otto Rieth (sculptor) was the creator of this design. I appreciate all information. Thanks in advance, Ursula
It is Bruckmann model no. 451 issued in 1882 (see " Silber aus Heilbronn für die Welt P.Bruckmann & Söhne (1805-1973 S.88)". The only flatware model designed by Otto Rieth for Bruckmann is model no. 260 (for the Exposition Universelle 1900 à Paris). The name Rieth on the spoon is probably the name of the seller.
Thank you 'silverfan' for this information. I have some model and time frame now......and maybe I'll locally do some more research with this. Thanks alot !!!
