set of cups

Postby deebirdee » Mon Feb 01, 2010 3:38 pm

hi - i have a set of cups which were left to me by my grandma - these came in the same box with a set of cutlery - i was told the cutlery and the cups were a set together. (the cutlery is in a different post under fish set, which has been edited by admin)

i'd appreciate if anyone can tell me (1) whether they are indeed a full set with the cutlery and (2) the origin and date

They are not connected to the fish knives and forks. These are German 800 grade silver.

Set of cups made by Otto Wolter, Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany

Hello

Maker's mark from set of cups shown here is of Otto Wolter KG (limited partnership), Remsstrasse 8, D-73525 Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany.

This silverware factory still exist - after now more then a century. Specialised in hollowware articles and some other specialities, e.g. for the dining table.

1903 they were settled in Remsstrasse 13.

It looks like that these cups are made in the sixties of last century.

It's already mentioned by paulh, that these cups aren't part of a designed combination with the fish set cutlery - they were a personell "marriage" only.

Kind regards silverport
