Help with maker please and are these silver gilt?

Postby lupitt » Sun Jan 31, 2010 5:33 pm

I'd like confirmation please that the knife and fork have a Dresden mark. No idea what the other marks are so again any help with those would be wonderful.

Also, are they silver gilt?

Many thanks again!

Lucy

the fist mark (FW) is a prussia Tax-Mark from King Friedrich Wilhelm (1809-1812) for older objekts.

(or see R3 Nr. 4422)

the y is a Letter for the year for the year 1772 (see R3 Nr 1713)

SM is the makers-mark (not in Rosenberg)
and 12 crossing sword an D is the hallmark from Dresden (R3 Nr. 1674)

Thank you so much for the date info, much earlier than I'd imagined. Can anyone say what they are made from? Would they be silver gilt? They're very 'gold' coloured.

Thanks again,
Lucy

The Problem is - I'm not sure.
It could also be from 1797.

see u = 1793

b = 1799

c = 1800

I try to solve this problem.
