Serving fork with IAL and ?0 - Need help to ID & Date

This large 11-1/4" serving fork has detailed engraving and a handle with a crest. The back of the fork part has IAL in a rectangular cartouche, then a smudged/partially missing number then 'O'. Based on prior threads, I believe this may be the mark for Breslau silversmith Julius Lemor - or his grandfather Johann Adam Lemor. The number is likely '70'. But there is no assay mark or date mark. Can anyone help me figure out whose mark this is, and possibly the date it was made? Thank you! hihotel

Hi Hihotel,

I am confident that the maker is Julius Lemor, (Julius Lemor Silberwaaren-Fabrik & Präge Anstalt Breslau) maker's mark "IAL" and the standard 70 and that is 700/1000.

The serving fork is probably made in the late 1880-ies, but before 1888 or not fully marked.

There are actually two Swedish noble families with the "Tudor-rose"-in their coats-of-arms; the noble family Ros and Roos af Hjelmsäter (a branch of the family lives/lived in North America).

I think it is the whole piece?

the 70 was used in Breslau but Lenor also worked in Striegau

The coat of arms is called Poraj or (Rosa, Rosa Alba, Róża, Różyc, Stoice, Una Rosa). It's old Polish coat of arms. That's how it looks enlarged and coloured.
