unknown distinctive mark on a lancette spoon

Postby R ingo » Wed Jan 13, 2010 3:40 pm

Hello,
here is another unknown mark. I think it could be an "JL" with an 1 on the left and a 3 on the right (for 13 lot). "JL" are probably the makers initials.
I know, that it is difficult to find the maker without city mark, but the mark looks so distinctive, that I hope, someone have seen it before and can help me.

Kind regards,
Ringo

Hello R ingo,

Thank you for posting!

I try to see a pattern of your postings, but I am not successful in doing it.

What do you know about the provinience of the spoons?

Best regards/JAKJO

Hello JAKJO,
I thank you for your efforts.
I have the spoon from the village Schramberg in in the Black Forest, district Rottweil in the state Baden-Württemberg. I am not sure if this is the origin provinience, but I think so.

Thanks and best regards,
Ringo

it looks similar to the makersmark of Issac Langenbach [JL] from Worms.
but in Scheffler #913 is not the 13
