Hanau? What is it?

Postby jls » Tue Oct 27, 2009 8:14 pm

Hello Everyone,
I believe this to be a piece by J.D.Schleissner & Sohne, but I would like to know for sure. The marks resemble theirs, also has DRGM mark. But what is it. I was kinda thinking it's a cigarette holder, As you can see it's made to hold a small candle also. The main body measures 3 1/4"x2 1/2"x 3/4" wide. Love to know what anyone else thinks.

Yes! It’s a cigarette stack and lightning server

Hello

Yours object is a cigarette stack and lightning server, by candle light — e.g. to be used in a party.

Style is «Art deco» = by Schleissner from about 1925 to 1935.

Additional mark DRGM signification is “German short time protected copyright” (DRGM = until 1945).

Kind regards silverport
