Augsburg dish with unknown maker

Postby R ingo » Mon Sep 28, 2009 6:49 am

Hello,
I have a silver dish made in Augsburg. it is only 8,5 cm long and 4 cm high. It is markt with the year letter P, the prussian tax mark for older silver, used between 1809 and 1812, and the unclear makers mark PI? (maybe PIP or PIF).
Knows someone the maker, is the year letter P from the new series (1804) or from the old series of the 18. century?
For what this dish was used? Is it for salt?
I hope, dish is the right word for this form.

Kind regards,
Ringo
