looks like HPL on waves
it is the maker or the town?
It is 750/1000 silver - I think about 1860-1880.

Hello Theoderich,

it is not the mark of Bredstedt. Bredstedt was until 1910 no town but a "Flecken" (not so big as a town) and had no Beschauzeichen.

Hi,

Here is a photo of the marks from a spoon by Georg(e) Wilhelm Weiss, born in 1749, active in the town Stallupönen in 1775, master in Memel (Klaipéda, Lithuania) in 1776, He died in 1828. (Scheffler Memel #9).

I believe that the "A" is 1818 (Scheffler presumes that the year letters of Memel are following Königsberg's.)

OK - I think it is Culm in Pommern (pl.Chełmno)
I find in the adressbook 1866 a goldsmith Ed(uard) Schröter
