Hello Ben

Now - more then a half year later — I saw by incidence yours question on maker A.WOLTZ.

Well, let’s start with a joke: Yes, he is the maker — of his struck!

He has bought from a toolmaker some thing, a little bit similar like this: ZTLOW.A and from Vereinigte Silberwarenfabriken (United Silver Products Factory) in Düsseldorf several “Thread Pattern” cutlery.

After a half day back in his workshop in Jülich, maybe by train from his province capital Düsseldorf, he has struck piece by piece — happy that almost people who observe stem’s backside, read: A.WOLTZ and would buy by this “maker”; instead of buy by A.SAMANS, the only other retailer in this little, historical country town of 5,400 inhabitants.

Real maker’s mark signification remains his secret! Yes, it is a knight’s helmet en face, with two spread feather bushes, almost unknown by the population. Look: http://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_marks_a1884_4.html

Have a nice X-mass and a prosperous New Year 2010!

Kind regards silverport
