The city mark is the Doppelhaken ("cramp iron" in English heraldry) of Halberstadt. The date letter "H" is known on items dated 1735, but the complete series of Halberstadt date letters is not certain; they do appear to be true annual date letters, however.

Wolfgang Scheffler's Goldschmiede Mittel- und Nordost- Deutschlands (the source of this information) does not show this particular maker's mark, but the threaded oval outline is identical to two other Halberstadt goldsmiths of the period. Scheffler does list a Halberstadt gold & silver worker Johann Friedrich Wippelmann, known because his daughter (born 1734) married Helmstedt silversmith HJC Haspelmacher in 1752, by which time Wippelmann had died. Wippelmann was therefore apparently working at the right time, and given the limited number of Halberstadt silversmiths (Scheffler lists but 50 in four centuries), I doubt "IFW" could be anyone else.

Summing up: Halberstadt, 1735, by Johann Friedrich Wippelmann.

Hope this helps!

This is a very beautiful piece.
This citymark should be taken in the Encyclopedia.
