Hello, maker is Bruckmann from Heilbronn. According to the pattern number this was first made in late february or early march 1917. Best wishes, Bahner

Thank you Bahner. Do you know what year they stopped manufacturing this pattern?

Hello, one could only tell by looking at the the production records, and these are in private hands in Gmünd and I don't have access to them. Sorry. Best wishes, Bahner

Bahner, you are an asset to this forum. DO you think it is possible that thsi set was still produced in 1960s?

Hello and thanks for the flowers. It is absolutely possible that this set was made in the 1960ies. When looking at Bruckmann trade catalogues of the 1960ies and early 1970ies one can see pieces that were designed ages ago and still were in production. Talking about tradition... Best wishes, Bahner

bahner & jackk-
it used to be common for manufacturers of virtually anything to keep items in production for decades - even harvey woods underwear, for example, which used to be available at t. eaton department store - unchanged for twenty years or more. so if someone banged up the sugarbox lid it was relatively easy to replace it. now: blink and it's gone.
