The marks are reasonably clear, indicating 9 carat gold from the Birmingham office
Year letter v (lower or upper case?)
I can't differentiate between 1920 and 1945 from the font style of the v
and also, why is the shield rectangular with chamfers, when the tables seem to suggest that both the 1920 and 1945 shields should have fluted bases?
What is the mark on the right hand side? It looks like an oval shaped '0' (zero). Could it be an apprentice mark.
And what does the letter 'M' signify to the left of the marks?
And finally, the sponsor's mark C G & S Could it be Charles Green & Son, although all the examples i've found just show as C G
Many thanks.
