Help identifying maker's mark

Post by memoryknots »

Hi everyone!
I'm trying to figure out the maker and I've just not been able to find anyone with AG initials in the shape this one's in. I've checked the website and googled a lot of maker's mark related to the Sheffield Assay Office. New to hallmarks, but I could make out Sheffield Assay office, 9K, 1997 :)

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Yes, it's Sheffield 1997. The Assay Offices do not publish details of makers'/sponsors' marks so your only course of action would be to contact the Sheffield Assay Office directly. Their web site has a "Contact Us" link.

Thanks, Phil! I was hoping to find out online. Looks like I must stop sleuthing for now, haha.

Just a head's up on the fees charged by the Sheffield Assay Office:

Identification of a hallmark - £10.00 per item
Research time undertaken by Librarian/Curator - £15.00 for every 30 minutes

These prices attract V.A.T. at 20%.
