Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
We'll need clear images of the marks if we're to help.

I obtained a loupe and could get a better view but not a better photograph.
The maker's mark is very worn and difficult to read even at 40x magnification.
The shank is very narrow and the mark very small.
I think I can make out 334 AL as well as 750.
A little internet research suggests the goldsmiths might have been Lombardi Giovanni & C. of Valenza.
Can anyone tell me anything about these goldsmiths?
Thank you.

Hi,
334 AL is the registration number of RELORI di LOMBARDI & C. Via Sassi, 8 VALENZA (assigned in May 1948.
Known to have been in business until 1971.At this address now is a bakery.

Thank you very much. I am told the ring is from the 1930s. I managed to peer at it through a greater magnification (60x). It is so worn that the only thing that is very clear is AL. I am 100% certain of that.
I am 75% certain of the last digit 4.
I am 50% certain of the middle digit 3.
I am very uncertain of the first digit. It could be a 2.
Have you any information on 234 AL or 134 AL?
I don't expect there is any such thing as 034 AL.
What about 34 AL?
Thanks so much again. I am grateful for your help.

It's not making sense to me.
If it were from the 1930s, should it not have the fascio symbol?
I have considered whether the third digit I thought was 4 might instead be the fascio.
Then it would be 2 digits followed by the fascio and then AL.
I don't think it is the fascio, though.
I am going to try looking in different lighting conditions and different magnifications.
I found a website listing Italian silversmith marks that confirmed the information you gave me for 334 AL.
Were silversmith marks shared by goldsmiths?
The 750 is quite clear and pronounced (although the 7 is very worn and resembles a 1 due to wear).
The 750 is not enclosed in an oval or any other shape.
Thank you again. This is a puzzle. And I am very new to this.
I like the ring and don't care about its value. I am just interested to know if it has a story.

34 AL
AMISANO Terenzio, Via Trento 1,VALENZA Registered 1935
134 AL
CORDARA, Via Astigliano 12,VALENZA Registered 1936,active until 1949.
234 AL
AGLIETTI Marco,Via Alessandria,VALENZA Registered 1943, active until 1971.
Whoever was the maker if the ring was made before or during WW II there should be a fascio between digits and AL.
Goldsmiths (jewelers) and silversmiths shared the same marks.

750 is obviously 18 K white gold.Diamonds are never set in yellow gold, but if a ring or a brooch is made of yellow gold, diamonds setting and prongs are made of white gold to avoid yellowish tint if set in yellow gold.

I appreciate very much your sharing information with me. I will post again if I get a better idea of what is in that mark.
Be well. Thanks so much again.

Looking at it again with different lighting, and considering that the symbol I thought was a worn 4 is probably a fascio, I still think the first two digits are 33.
Then, it would read 33 [fascio] AL.
I think that is therefore ARIMANO Lorenzo BRINGIATTI, Via Volturno, 17, VALENZA Registered 23/05/1935, out of business between 1955 and 1971.
I have a question about that fascio symbol. Are there variations of it? For example, does the axe head appear at the top or middle or even closer to the bottom of the bundle of rods in different versions? Does the axe head ever appear on the left, or is it always on the right?
Also, regarding the name: Is Arimano the surname of the goldsmith? And the given name is Lorenzo, but what about the name Bringiatti? That too appears to be a surname.
I will try to research these questions, and I appreciate any insight anyone can provide. Thank you so much again.

It could also be 53 [fascio] AL, which would be CEVA Carlo,Via Palestro,12, VALENZA, registered 23/05/1935, out of business between 1955 and 1971.
I will probably never know.
But it's fun to imagine, and to try to figure out the puzzle.
