Marking on Gold Ring

I Have a Vintage gold ring that is marked 14K-A +1 does anyone know what the +1 stands for it has 5 diamonds on it they are smaller maybe 0.1-0.25 carats each. I've looked through multiple threads and done research online and haven't found anything hoping someone out there may know.
