Egyptian Marks

Hi Dax,
If the marks are as you have drawn them, then there is some question as to if they are indeed Egyptian. If I allow for some artistic liscense, then a classic mark for Egypt reads (for this purpose of explination - left to right) starts with the first square indicating the assay office and metal fineness. As you have drawn, with a bit of fudging, looks like a Cairo mark. Cairo has a loop and only 2 dots but the loop can look like a dot - so check again. The metal fineness is directly below the assay office mark and in your case indicates 18k. The center box contains the Ibis, an Egyptian bird that represents gold - my only issue here is your drawing has the Ibis facing in the opposite direction. I may not be aware of a reversal of direction that might of occured in the last few years but all the ones that I have seen have the Ibis facing left. That is my only issue. The last box is a year date that I do not have a chart for. Sorry...
Hope this helped

Thanks for the explanation on egyptian Hallmarks.
Due to the fact that the ring isn't in my posession it is for the moment a little difficult to get back on your questions, but i'll pass them throug to the owner and post the answers as soon as i have them.
Kind regards,
