Please help me about mysterious Russian ring

Postby Maki » Mon Jul 23, 2012 3:41 am

Hi there

Recently I reserved this ring and am supposed to buy next month.
But there is mysterious hallmark.
There is gold purity mark"56"that was used before revolution.
But next mark looks like assay office mark of Krasnoyarsk that opened in 1967.
As for third mark,I and seller couldn't know what it was.
There are 2 contradicted marks in shovel's single frame!

Anyone know why such thing can happen?

Thank you for reading

Now problem was solved!
I knew the letter after 56 was half of initial of St-Peterburg's assayer Yakov Liapunov.
It was used in 1899-1903.
