Makers Mark Identification

Postby cmcm » Fri Jan 07, 2011 1:08 am

I have a locket that was made in Birmingham with the maker mark “ J.T.J “ but I cannot find any information on who this maker is. Any direction on what the J.T.J stands for would be appreciated. The year marker is a lower case “ i “.

Hello Cmcm,

Just to inform, you could ask the: library@thegoldsmiths.co.uk
They are the best and very friendly to assist, all they have to know is your question with a photo of the hallmarks, and all this great service comes for free!
Good luck and inform this forum of the outcome. Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Oel

Thanks Oel,
I contacted the Goldsmiths Library and they responded promptly, but informed me that as the item was from Birmingham I would need to check with the Birmingham assay office (gem@theassayoffice.co.uk). I have sent correspondence to them but not yet had a reply.

Regards
