Help identifing gold ring, please!

Postby dangerbunnygirl » Wed Feb 10, 2010 2:30 pm

Hi, I have a gold engagement ring and I was wondering if anyone could provide more information on it, when I bought it at a vintage jewelry store I was told it was 10kt, made in England and around 100years old. Recently when I posted a picture of it online someone told me it was actually a copy of a Victorian ring and made in the 1970's or 80s.

any information would be appreciated,
Thanks!

Hi.
The marks don't look clear to me , but from what I can tell my interpretation is, the first mark is the sponsors mark which looks like ? M R, can't help, the second and third marks I take to be a Crown and 375 which are the carat marks for 9 ct gold. the next mark, an anchor on its side for Birmingham, England and the last mark is the Date Letter which is the F for 1980.
Hope this helps
.
