pocket watch marks

Postby alfred67 » Wed Apr 15, 2009 8:29 am

Hello

I hope someone can help me identify this watch. I was told it belonged to my Great-Great-Great Grandfather.

It has an eagle and a star marking on the case

Hi,
According to the forum responses at the Watch & Clock Collectors site, 'C. Hormann and Co. of Neuchatel is the maker and Goldore is a trade name for a composition metal that is neither gold nor silver.'
I'd suspect they'd know more about the subject than we would.
Regards, Tom

Hello

I know , I posted it . But the person who replied was not 100% sure, so I'm seeking more information , I believe the watch was made in 1874. Hoping someone could help get more information

In future postings, it would be better to include whatever you have already learned.
