not gold, this is a base metal overlaid with 1/5th of 9 ct gold - as it says - which means 20% of 9/24ths of the overlay is gold.

if 24 carat is pure gold, then 9 ct is .375 or 375 of 1000 parts gold. if you then take 20 % of that, you have 75 one-thousandths parts gold that are among the other metals - largely copper, that are on the surface of this bangle.
