Egyptian Brooch - Advice Needed

I can't decide if this brooch is gold or base, there is a very small mark on the back of the brooch but I have been unable to identify it; any help appreciated.

I suggest you check specific gravity of your brooch by hydrostatic
method. Quite simple and descibed elsewhere in this forum.
Pure gold spec.grav. is 19.32 and your brooch should not be far off.
