Uncle Tom's Cabin spoon

This spoon is made, I believe, by Watrous mfg. Co. The design is of Uncle Tom's cabin, and on the handle are some characters. The back is signed with the authoress' name. Is this design rare and, if so, can it be accurately dated?

That's wonderful Byron; so it was made in 1896 or some time shortly afterwards.

Here is some extra information given to me by American Spoon Collectors.

This spoon was patented on December 27, 1898. U.S. Patent NO. 29,866. Isabella Beecher Hooker designed the spoon which was available from Wm Rogers about November 1, 1896; she then (apparently) submitted to patent In January 30, 1897 .. patent = granted on December 27, 1898.

Your spoon is the Watrous design. There are some differences in the design between the original Hooker spoon made by Rogers and the Watrous spoon.
