925/1000 P R + mystery mark - Am Mark? Sterling Youth Spoon

Postby wyndrise » Sun Jul 29, 2007 1:56 pm

I have a sterling marked youth spoon, 5 1/4", and on the shoulder facing the bowl are 3 marks. I can't decipher the first, the next is 925/1000 the last is made up of the initials P R in elegant and simple script. I have search around and can't find anything like the top mark. Does anyone recognize this? I've included a closeup of the first mark.

Thank you so much for your help!

Check out the Towle Silversmiths mark here:

The PR mark was used on their Paul Revere silverware.

Thank you so much! It's funny how once someone tells you that's a capital "t" with a lion inside that's exactly what it looks like! I'm sure I'll be back with more questions having inherited a box of various and odd silver spoons.

I appreciate your fast response!
