Sterling Candleholders w/mark of EB in a circle with C597

Sterling Candleholders w/mark of EB in a circle, under that the word "Sterling" and under that: C597 - is this American or British? Does anyone have any idea who the maker is and the country? I've looked thru several "mark" sites and can't find a mark like this one. These belonged to my husband's aunt who died in 1985 and was in her 80's.

That mark was used by the Edward Ball Company, New York City.

Pat,

thank you sooo much for that super quick reply. I will do some research on that company. I was so delighted to find they were real sterling and not silverplate!
