Hi!
We have a nut spoon [?] with a maker's mark I can't identify ... I looked in the unlettered and difficult ... beyond the numbers 82, I don't know how else to try to figure this one out....
Any help at all will be received with gratitude and appreciation, I promise!
Sincerely,
Susan

Durgin?

I saw a post where Tom recommended that the person gently clean out the silver polish stuck in the maker's mark and rephoto to see if came out clearer ... so I thought to do the same to this piece.
I think it could be Durgin ... considering it was stamped on a very curved surface and the cross at the top wouldn't have enough room to impress unless the stamp could roll over a rounded surface ... this mark has very similar contours.
Does anyone else think this is possible or am I stretching too far?
Thanks for any and all help!
Sincerely,
Susan

Hi Susan,
I'm thinking it might be a double stamped Fradley piece, they also used a more simplified cross mark than the one shown here -

Thank you!

Hi, Tom!
Thanks so much for your time and for the suggestion ... it doesn't look the same to me under the loop ... I can see a circle clearly stamped in the middle of this mark. On the other hand, I am so new to this, I am clear I just don't have the expertise to really make a determination.
Again, thanks for your help, it's so appreciated.
Sincerely,
Susan
