Question about International vs. Simpson, et al.

Hi!

I was wondering how [and if] you can tell whether a piece was made by Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co. or whether it was made by International? Have a piece that is clearly the knight's head ... but no patent date or anything else to go by in determining its age.

I am posting a photo of what I hope I've correctly identified as a sugar shell with the maker's mark. If there's a way to tell whether it was made by Simpson, et al. or International, will someone let me know?

Thanks so much!

Sincerely,
Susan

The pattern is Warwick by International patented in 1898. It probably only was current for a few years. Simpson lasted until 1898, but International used the mark also.

Thank you! :0)
