Is there any way to date this?

Hello, Everyone...

We have a couple of pieces of Wallace sterling that have no date stamps that we can find ... is there any way to date the pieces without a date stamp? I know that Wallace has had several different company stamps, but haven't actually seen a date range for any of them except the rarest one...

I've included photos just in case there's a way to figure out the date ... the pattern is La Reine...

Replacements, Ltd. states the pattern was in production from 1921 to 1996. I'm not aware of any way to determine in which exact year a certain flatware piece was manufactured. Perhaps someone else will reply if there is one. Kit

Can't find much info on Wallace's marks either.
R. Wallace & Sons used the deer head in their mark with the letters RW&S. In 1956 the name of the company was changed to Wallace Silversmiths. I wonder if this is sort of a transitional mark between RW Wallace and Wallace Silversmiths. Don't know when they started using their modern W mark, but I have seen it on 1968 Wallace advertisements.

Pat.

Thanks! :0)

Thank you, Kit and Patrick for your efforts on our behalf!

I think with these kinds of things, it's probably easiest just to be grateful it's sterling and a pretty piece and let it go at that....

Thanks again...

Susan
