Vinaigrette marked ROD Sterling

Post by dartsil »

Hello all.

This one I thought would be an easy find but for some reason I have not been able to trace this maker, on a vinaigrette which I think is 20th century.

Any assistance on the maker as ever would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Colin

Hi,
That`s amazing; if not for the modern looking mark, one could bet the vinaigrette is George III, both how it`s engraved and cut.
Sorry, no idea.

Hi AG,

This one if you held it and looked at it I think you would say 20th century, I am more of the mind its second half of 20th century, thought this would be an easy one as in someone would recognise this mark as its quite unique, thus far it still remains a mystery

I just bought one of these last night on an auction. I can’t find the maker either. I searched and only found yours.

When I posted this quite some time ago, I found no others out there and am still in the same boat,

Yes, yours is the only one I can find. It’s a gift for my boss so I was hoping to get the background info for her but I’m sure she will like it either way.
