I have a set of small bird figurines trimmed with sterling silver with no makers marks that I bought in Richmond, VA back around 1991.
The birds bodies are fashioned out of stone. One looks like agate and I don't know what the other one is made of. I am trying to
get any information about the birds and who made them and approximate age.
Any information will be most appreciated.
Regards,
Leo

Are there no marks at all?

Focus on the neck under the beak...are those hidden marks with letters and numbers? How did you determine a sterling standard of .925 fine, as opposed to something like .800?
Re: Silver Birds With Stone Bodies
I had a penguin with a black-and-white agate body. ::: I believe it was 800 silver and it was from Germany. ::: The hallmarks were difficult to find. ::
I get the impression that my penguin example was older than your examples, for some reason your examples strike me as more modern. ::::

Hi,
Thank you all for helping. I just happened to have an antique dealer at my house today and he found the hallmarks and silver content of .925
on each of the birds. He was pretty sure that they are German based on the hallmarks, but he's not sure of the age. I saw the marks when he showed me where they were located but I can't seem to find them or see them again. Bad eyesight I guess....LOL
Best regards,
Leo
