Hello!
I would be very grateful for helpful help. I have 2 spoons that I assume are made in America. They are stamped CF Hurd, I suppose it's the retailer? What I wonder is who the silver smith is and when they can be made?
Best regards

C.F. Hurd shown deceased in 1921 Jewelers Circular: https://books.google.com/books?id=dFUcA ... rd&f=false
Full image of piece could determine earliest possible date by pattern.

I'm afraid he was simply on a committee on deceased members of the Jewelers Association in 1921. Charles Frost Hurd was born in 1853 in New York and died there in 1929.Traintime wrote:C.F. Hurd shown deceased in 1921 Jewelers Circular: https://books.google.com/books?id=dFUcA ... rd&f=false

Quite right S. Guess I got lazy on blowing up the images. Here's a link to local obits (scroll way down): http://orleans.nygenweb.net/obits/obith3.htm
JC indicates he retired about 10 years earlier (c.1919), so that should be the cut off >if< the firm closed then.
