Encircled "W" w/extensions

Post by Traintime »

On salad servers of wood with sterling handles. Marked twice, front & back, on each piece. Mark is similar to Frank M. Whiting only this one has all three extensions stemming from a single branch. Stubby looking like a weed succulent attacking your garden. I don't believe it's an "OW", but just an encirclement of the one letter. [The design was not spotted among the known F.M. Whiting patterns.] TIA

It looks more like Whiting than anything else I have seen.

I have a similar one, also unidentified so far, on a matchbox holder. The extensions from the circle are straight lines, not looped. Can't find it anywhere. (That's a W, not an A, in the circle,)

Any ideas?

I think they're both Frank M Whiting Co trademarks, https://www.925-1000.com/americansilver_W4.html
