Unknown manufacturer - American?

Postby gyl » Wed Mar 13, 2019 8:06 pm

I have a coffee pot, marked sterling silver with shield markings that look like an eagle head, letter D, and seated figure. It is most likely American, but i cannot find the markings in libraries. Does anybody know what it is? The pot looks light and thin. Hope it is really sterling. Here are the pictures.

Much to my chagrin that you got it and I didn't...grumble, grumble...it's the real deal. See Dunkirk Silversmiths, Inc. here: https://www.925-1000.com/americansilver_D2.html

Your's would be a variant of the mark.

Being as you are in Nu Yoke, it might be by their pedecessor the Gold Recovery and Refining Corp. (1940-45) of NY, NY. They should be under "G" listing.

Thank you very much! It looks exactly as the marks from Dunkirk Silversmiths.
