Help to identify hallmark

Item must be marked "Sterling" or "925"

Help to identify hallmark

Hi :) I have been trying to find this mark in the forum without any success...I bought a set of 12 in a case at an estate auction...their to big to be salt spoons...I sure would like to identify the age and maker....thanks so much Connie

Looks like it might be Whiting's chimera or griffon mark, pattern is most likely Square Twist (not a full-line pattern), several similar twist patterns were introduced in the 1880s-90s. If the spoons are about four inches long, they're demitasse spoons.

Hi Cheryl...Im just getting started in collecting sterling...I really appericate your help with these marks...its hard in the beginning to find and distinguish the marks...I guess it comes with a trained eye...again thank you for your help and time....Connie :)
