Gavin Spence & Co & Gorham

Hi I have these wonderfully designed spoons that have both Gavin Spence & Co (1855-1916 Newark) and Gorham Manufacturing Ltd. Marks on
I am interested in the link between the two as I can't find any history on this.

Gorham was the manufacturer, Gaven Spence & Co. was the retailer, the pattern is the multi-motif 'Gilpen', introduced in 1880.
