Hello again. I have these four spoons which are marked sterling and do feel and sound pure but have no markings other than Pat. 1898. Any idea what company these are from? Thank you.

First camera just couldn't grab the images. These are better. Well marginally better, they degraded at Photobucket. Thank you.

The word sterling is in the first shot and Pat. 1898 inside the eye shaped area in second. They are clearly visible to the naked eye but maybe the whiteness of the silver makes capturing difficult.

That's Whiting Mfg.'s 'Pompadour' pattern, should find their trademark in the middle of the design above the bowl...

Would there also be a date mark somewhere? I think I need a stronger loupe.

Whiting's date marks wouldn't have been used on flatware...
