Not marked as such so it probably isn't, but it reminds me of Gorham. Shown with a Gorham Isis pattern I have which it reminded me of, and it's even more similar to the Gorham Sphinx pattern. But it bears only a Sterling mark. So if not Gorham, any idea whose it could be?
Reminds me of the work of George Sharp, and I believe once you do a quick search for pieces by George Sharp the similarities are apparent. George Sharp worked in Coin Silver but the overall feel of the piece is very similar to George Sharp. I have noticed a few pieces over the years that are very good copies of popular patterns by Gorham, Tiffany and George Sharp. All these pieces are marked "STERLING" and no other company name is given.
Thanks, that was very helpful. It does look Sharp, from the hexagonal stalk to the mutliple beaded end. I did find some other Sterling by him, and it seems like he often didn't sign his own work, it being sold with the retailers name. So that does seem very likely to me.
With a little more searching I found a ladle at Rubylane by Sharp with an identical handle, with the same Sterling mark, so I think you were right about it being his. I don't think links to items for sale are allowed, but here is pic of the item itself:
