I am so happy I found this forum! I was going crazy looking for info on this piece. It was made for the Rubberset Brush Company and says: Del Mas ORIGINAL STERLING. I'm assuming it's some type of shaving brush holder. Here are some pics:
ANY help would be immensely appreciated! I am hoping to get info on the maker and approximate time in business.
Unfortunately I had the images on my Comcast Personal Web page and Comcast just shut down the hosting of these for all of their subscribers. I appreciate that you embedded them in your earlier post. Thanks! I"m still hoping to find more information on this piece.
Could this be a one-off sterling sample of a cast production item (plated base metal), used to commemorate the designer's work. Also, if "Del Mo.'s" were the proper intended reading of the mark, the Hotel Del Monte was in close proximity to this "Spectacular Spectacular" (1915 Fair). Was it ment for them?
