I don't see a Gorham standard mark but a lion rampant before anchor..suggesting British work from Birmingham but not sure. Last mark was fuzzy to me. Did you check English sections already?

Yours is a Gorham mark and the word sterling under the mark does apply.

Here's a link to a Gorham page concerning marks on this site: http://www.925-1000.com/Gorham_Date_Code.html The pattern is called Colonial, and my reference shows that it was first produced in 1885.

Good eyes Silverly. Couldn't make out the worn G there, but see it now. Probably should have been paying closer attention to the direction of the lion which was still bothering me when I signed off.
