Hi all! I'm having some trouble finding what I need. I've read the guidelines for this forum and believe this post may be borderline unacceptable, but I just don't know where else to turn. Frankly, I’m baffled! I'm brand new to the world of silver collecting. My forte is antique postcards-- a different universe, altogether! Please take a look at my set {Pardon the funky colors-- I fooled around with them to make the details stand out}:

So now I've got the maker and the date but my curiosity is still not satisfied! I've been all over the net (eBay included) seeking info but evidently this is a rare pattern. Everyone I've approached has been stumped by it. If any of you can give me a jumpstart here, I'd really appreciate it! My questions are:
Why would someone have flattened the ends? Is that a part of the tradition of collecting these things? Is there any way to restore them? If there is a way, SHOULD I? Should I hire a pro? How would that person be listed in the yellow pages? Since this is one of 12 zodiac signs, it would follow that there are at least 11 other sets out there someplace. Where can I track down other collectors of this line? ...And so on and so forth… ugh!
Thank you for your consideration. I don’t expect anyone to sit and answer all of these questions for me. Even if you did, I’d just have 20 more when you were done! However, if you know where to tell me to look, please do so! My research has only gotten me as far as this forum.
