Silver and Gold. Mysterious Box.

Postby Vale » Tue Oct 21, 2014 3:04 pm

Hi all,

Today I bring a small box apparently from early 19th or 18th Century. I don't know its purpose. Seems can hold cards but I doubt it. Maybe it is for cigarettes? I think it is to thin. Anyways, marks show it is sterling and 12 and 18 K Gold. I also see a cryptic manufacture's logo where I read "E", "J", "b" and "k". Any idea? Thank you!

An advertisement from James E. Blake Co., that perhaps provides a date for this item:

Interesting ! I assume my case is for cards then and probably dated circa 1923. Right ?

Thank you Trev. That was a good one.

Yes, that sounds correct to me.
