Flatware Markings

Postby Lisashere » Fri Jul 25, 2014 6:55 pm

I'm trying to identify this sterling silver flatware set. The marking, a knight above a shield with a S inside the shield, looks very similar to Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co. Would anyone confirm that is correct? Also there is a mark that says E. KELLER & SONS. Why are there 2 company markings? Or am I incorrect in thinking the mark is for Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co.? I'm confused.

Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co./International Silver 'Andover' pattern, introduced in 1919 - E. Keller & Sons was an Allentown, PA jeweler that closed in 1935.
